Bride of Frankenstin

The resulting film is a pseudo-eastern European trailer for a supernatural film in which our protagonist, Frankenstin, orders a Chinese bride over the internet. She turns up. She’s unspeakably evil. And she wants his soul.

It’s 3 minutes of ridiculous action / thriller / supernatural and horror shots. It doesn’t make an awful lot of sense but it is a lot of fun.

This quirky little piece of nonsense stars two Two Bells favourites, Ian Peto and Maye Choo. Another 48 hour film challenge, this time back with Johnnie Oddball, we were given this bizarre title (not a spelling mistake, by the way), supernatural horror as our genre and a t-shirt from sponsors – Movieum of London – to use in the film. And it had to come 3 minutes, no more, no less.

The crew consisted of Keith Arnold and Tobias Tobbell. After a short writing period on the Saturday morning (25th October, 2008) they teamed up with the rest of the group and completed shooting Saturday afternoon on Keith’s miniDV camera back in Lewisham and Blackheath.

It was complete and ready for delivery a full 18 hours before the Monday morning deadline. So we didn’t break our backs on this one, which turned out to be a comfort when the film was later lost by the organisers. Our mini-masterpiece was therefore not seen by the judges or the audience on Friday night (Halloween night). A bit of a disappointment but it will be going out to film festivals, mostly little horror-themed festivals, over 2009.
