Born in 1979, British writer-director Tobias Tobbell began writing plays and making short films as a young teenager. He read Classical History at Reading University, where he swiftly joined the university drama society (RUDS).
After becoming Artistic Director of RUDS, Tobbell and a handful of similarly driven friends promoted new writing, took several shows to Edinburgh Fringe and turned RUDS into a flourishing and prolific drama society. During his three years at the university, Tobbell took part in over 25 shows as writer, director and/or actor, winning an audience award for 'Best Original Play' in 1999.
In the following decade, Tobbell created Two Bells Productions, co-founded AntHill Media, and produced over 300 short films, videos, sketches and how-tos; many of which accrued well over a million Internet hits each.
In 2010 he produced the festival hit ‘The Drummond Will’, a black comedy which picked up 8 Best Feature awards. His latest film, ‘Confine’ (both written and directed by Tobbell), was released in 2013 UK by Koch Media, and 2014 in North America.
